KeyBank, Donnell Systems Inc. Announce Paperless Solution to Increase Efficiency at Physician Management Practices.

Integrated lockbox system uses images to automate claims reimbursement, reduce costs for MaternOhio

KeyBank and Donnell Systems Inc. have signed an agreement to jointly market a new product for physicians' offices that significantly improves management of healthcare reimbursement, expedited claims processing and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

The product, an integrated image lockbox called Key2Image Lockbox Remittance Manager, combines Donnell System's OCIE(TM) with Key's existing lockbox image service. The first customer for the integrated product is MaternOhio, a Columbus, Ohio, physician services organization that provides management services for more than 100 obstetricians and gynecologists throughout the state.

Mike D'Eramo, MaternOhio's executive director, finds the benefits are unmatched. "From accelerated payment posting to heightened customer service, this solution makes good business sense," he said.

Key2Image Lockbox Remittance Manager enables MaternOhio to post deposits the same day, which not only improves cash flow, but also accelerates the revenue cycle, yielding a high return on investment. Through image technology, Donnell Systems' OCIE(TM) will also minimize the cost of document storage and retrieval by matching patient information within the billing system.

"This unique product is very important to the marketplace because it allows health care organizations to take a basic image service to the next level. Through one electronic window, they can use this system as a more efficient means of research and document retrieval," said Lynda Umbreit, KeyBank Commercial Banking cash management sales officer.

D'Eramo said that his physician offices' patients will truly reap the benefits. "When patients call us for information, our business office employees now have complete access to all documentation at their fingertips," he said.

Bruce Wildes, Eastern Region sales manager for Key's eBusiness sees clients wrestle with document management challenges every day. "Physicians practices and other health care organizations are drowning in paperwork, particularly since the institution of HIPAA." Wildes said. "This solution helps them solve this problem in ways they've never been able to do before," said Wildes.

An acronym for Online Computer Information Exchange, OCIE collects report data and document images from anywhere within an enterprise. Information is automatically indexed, archived, secured, and available for authorized users to view, search, analyze, annotate, data mine, and extract. OCIE is beneficial to the enterprise far beyond basic viewing and Web-based distribution. It offers broad functionality that includes on-demand printing, form overlay viewing and printing, ad-hoc reporting, and the ability to unlock and mine data from legacy reporting systems for use in applications and databases.

Key2Image Lockbox Remittance Manager is available to KeyBank customers immediately, as a part of KeyGuide, a suite of scalable eBusiness products, services and solutions. KeyGuide offerings include electronic invoice presentment and payment (EIPP), enterprise resource planning (ERP), document management and more.
